I believe in community over competition. There are far too many people out there for me to photograph alone, so I’ve really enjoyed getting to connect with other photographers both near and far! I also happen to love organizing stuff (and styling too) – so last July I hosted an outdoor shoot out for local photographers. (You can see the blog post if you scroll down far enough) It was so much fun and such a successful day that I planned another one, Winter Woodland Shoot Out, this past January. It was totally different since we couldn’t be outside for the entire of the shoot, so the photographers that came over to my studio were able to shoot with studio lighting and still left feeling inspired in an entirely different way. It’s so fun to trade tips and tricks, and just hangout with others who get it.
Here are some of the gorgeous images I took from the stylized winter shoot out. We even snuck out at the end of the day for one shoot right on my property. Past clients know this but I live on 5 acres of gorgeous wooded area, so lots of times we will just shoot right at my house — not that you would ever know from the pictures! Magic, I tell you!!
