Hailey Turns Two… and gets to ride on a carousel horse! | Wisconsin Child Photographer

Hailey turns 2! For her milestone session we had a blast. We did part of it indoors and part of it outdoors. OF COURSE outdoors was my favorite because let’s face it, after being cooped up inside all winter in Wisconsin… and then for most of this Spring too… um yeah, I need more green and sunshine in my life. But her entire session was truly adorable. Below are some of my favorites from the outdoor portion! Her mommy and daddy even trusted my photographer vision enough to let me use a carousel horse prop (thanks to my amazing husband for creating and welding a base for it — another one of my crazy craigslist finds!) for a few images and it turned out soooo gorgeous if I do say so myself! In fact I’m thinking the carousel horse may need be to offered in the future for special stylized sessions with some pretty streamers behind it, etc. oooohhh… but before I keep daydreaming too much more… here is beautiful, spunky little Hailey:

Baby Edie | Milwaukee Newborn Photographer

I’ve had A LOT of babies lately starting with the letter E for their names. It’s kind of crazy. Or at least interesting. Is this the latest “baby name trend”? Anything that starts with an E?! Just kidding! Sweet little miss Edie’s Godmother booked a full newborn session for her family (what a PERFECT gift!) and it turned out absolutely adorable — she’s such a pretty baby and it’s no surprise because her big brother and big sister are equally as cute!

Prepare for your heart to MELT from cuteness overload. I’m serious you guys! This year was my 1st time offering Mommy & Me sessions. In fact they went so well that I offered a 2nd round. I’m learning that you guys love to see set-ups for special/stylized sessions before it actually happens. In the past I haven’t bothered to really show a preview because it’s a LOT of work to set-up everything, take images, and then HOPE people will book the sessions – but this really helped to motivate me for more styled sessions in the future! (trust me I have a lonnng list of creative and unique photography ideas!) ANYWAYS – I thought Mommy & Me sessions were the perfect Mother’s Day gift idea from loving spouses, the kids themselves, or even a treat to mom from herself… because photos will last well beyond the life span of flowers. And capturing the pure connection between you and your child(ren) will be worth so much more. This is what “a picture is worth a thousand words” is all about!! 😉

Anyways there is an awesome little back story about this set-up if you’re still reading this far 🙂 I constantly search Craigslist and other online websites for vintage finds and unique items that I can use for photography sessions. LAST SUMMER I found this gorgeous pink & floral couch (which has a matching chair) and had to snatch it up! Of course my husband was less than thrilled to drive to Milwaukee and load the pieces into our truck and especially once I told him I didn’t plan to use it until the following MAY… haha… but it has now PROVEN to be totally worth it! I am seriously in love with this couch and may even have to offer it again next year, unless I find something even better in the meantime which is dangerously possible lol!

Baby Evie | Wisconsin Newborn Family Photographer

Welcoming baby Evie into this world wouldn’t be complete without a blog post! She is the cutest 7lbs ever – take a peek! Her parents were some of the sweetest people, too. I had such a great time getting to spend a few hours talking and laughing with them while we shot Evie’s full newborn session. It was really neat to hear how they met, the meaning behind their new baby’s initials, and of course, how much they are already in LOVE with her!

With a full newborn session, parents and/or sibling shots are included. As you can see below, they are a totally special moment and I really enjoy capturing the connection between the family so I always try to gently push towards full sessions because the time will go by so fast… babies even change within just a couple of weeks… so getting images of you in the picture too will really mean so much now to you and forever to them as well!

Mommy & Me total session fee is $150 and all inclusive (hi-res digital images) You will receive a total of 8 images in a downloadable gallery, guaranteed before Mother’s Day 2016. Session time is up to 20 minutes. After this deposit is made, the final payment will be $100 due upon date of session.
